Take Action

Local groups are community-based groups of volunteers who work as a team for the promotion of human rights. They write letters, circulate petitions, and table at public events. They are the representatives of Amnesty International in their communities. They work with local media, lobby public officials, produce events, work in coalition with other organizations, and raise money for AIUSA. Local groups work on AI’s human rights campaigns, and also often adopt individual prisoners of conscience.
