SOUTHEAST ASIA REGIONAL ACTION NETWORK

Group 30 is one of a number of groups, in the U. S. and elsewhere, that belong to the Southeast Asia Regional Action Network. As human rights abuses come to our attention in any of five countries in this region, we take such actions as we hope will help the abused persons. Usually, we write letters to heads of state and other government officials whose positions relate to the cases in question.

The region covers Burma (aka Myanmar), Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Typical cases are the arrest and imprisonment of political activists (frequent in Burma), abused minorities (for instance, the Hmong in Laos), religious activists (a Catholic priest in Vietnam is such a case).
