Dear Chairman Champa Phuntsok:

I am pleased to learn that Ven. Ngawang Phulchung, an Amnesty International Prisoner of Conscience, was released from Chushul Prison in Tibet in October, 2007, after serving 18 ½ years of a 19-year prison term. I continue to be concerned about the more than 100 political prisoners (most of them monks like Ngawang Phulchung) still imprisoned in Tibet for similar offenses. We call upon your government to release them immediately and unconditionally.
