1)   REQUESTED ACTION ON BEHALF OF ABLIKIM ABDUREYIM:

Please write to President Hu Jintao, at the Chinese embassy in Washington DC. Tell the president that you are alarmed that Ablikim Abdureyim has been denied adequate medical care while in prison. Ask him to investigate allegations that Ablikim Abdureyim has been tortured while in prison, for refusing to sign a forced confession. If you wish, you may leave your home address. In the event that the Chinese government writes back to you, please let us know. Be sure to print the prisoner’s name in bold capitals in the body of your message

2)  CONTINUING ACTION ON BEHALF OF ABLIKIM ABDUREYIM AND ALIM ABDUREYIM:

Please send postcards of support to both of the sons of Rebiya Kadeer, at the prisons where they are serving their sentences (postage: 94 Cents). The postcards should avoid provocative images. Messages can mention Amnesty and should be inoffensively phrased (for example: “Your many friends think of you and wish you well. You are not forgotten”   or  “We think of you and hope you will stay strong. You will be free.” ) Be sure to print the prisoner’s name in bold capitals in the address and in the body of your message

Again, the idea is that the postcards let the prison officials know that both Ablikim and Alim are well known internationally. This often results in improved treatment and better health care for the prisoner.
